Myanmar will permit Import of Second-hand machinery and equipment
According to local news in Myanmar on March 20, the Myanmar Commerce Department said, they will permit import of the used machinery and equipment from March of this year, in order to promote the development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. Because of imported second-hand equipment is much more cheaper than the new one, to the businesses, buying used equipment can get greater profit margins and also can ease the financial pressure on SMEs. Commerce Department also said that in order to avoid becoming the focus of waste equipment developed markets, Myanmar imported second-hand equipment to strict import policy will be adjusted annually. Used equipment imported only allowed to be by sea through border trade imports. Prior to this, the Burmese do not have to allow imports of second-hand equipment.
