The planetary gear set, also known as, the epicyclic gear train is one of the most important and interesting inventions in engineering. They are great speed variation mechanisms and are often used in automobiles as a vital part of automatic transmissions.
A planetary gear set has four main parts: the sun, planet gears, ring gear, and carrier. You can see that it sometimes rotates quickly, sometimes slowly, and sometimes even in reverse. But... How does this happen? You will be able to predict the motion of this gear set completely, if you understand one simple fact!
That is an impossible condition! Just apply this fact to planetary gear sets, and you will be able to predict how speed variation is achieved. Assume that the ring gear is held stationary and we rotate the sun gear. Think of what happens to the planet gears! At point A, the planet gear should have a certain speed and at point B, the speed should be zero, as the ring gear is stationary.
Taking one apart is pretty simple. Several screws in the bottom and plastic pieces to take off. The coolest parts are at the top. So sit back and relax and we'll let the 3D animation do all the hard work. Each time you press down a button, the previous ones are released. The white button turns the fan off. It also doesn't stay down like the other buttons do. And there is definitely a mechanism here.
You need to consider which machines are critical for your factory's production. These critical machines should have the greatest priority over the other machinery and you should also consider how much time you can spend on measuring them regularly. It is ideal to measure the machines every week, but we are not living in an ideal world.

How does it work? You place the acceleration sensor on the measuring point, this converts the vibrations into electronic signals, the signals are transmitted via the cable to the vibration meter or analyzer and the signal is processed into the vibration values which you can read on the device screen.
The measurement point location must enable you to take repeatable measurements under the same conditions every time. Measurement repeatability is very important!

How to prepare the measuring point? To obtain quality and repeatable measurements you should prepare your measuring point on the bearing housing. The best way to do this is to fit all measurement points with measurement pads. A measurement pad has flat ground surface, made of magnetic stainless steel and it is connected to the machine with a special glue which has metallic properties when dry.
An acceleration sensor is usually supplied with a strong neodymium magnetic base, which ensures good transfer of machine vibrations to the sensor.
